Product Care
Imitation and fashion jewellery stays beautiful for longer with a little care. Here is how to look after your pieces from The Zire.
Keep it dry
- Remove your jewellery before bathing, swimming, washing hands or doing household chores.
- Water, sweat and humidity can dull the plating and tarnish the metal underneath.
- If a piece gets wet, pat it dry gently with a soft cloth straight away.
Last on, first off
- Put your jewellery on after applying perfume, deodorant, hairspray, lotion and make-up.
- Take it off before you remove make-up or go to sleep.
- Chemicals in cosmetics and perfumes are the most common cause of fading and discolouration.
Clean gently
- After wearing, wipe each piece with a soft, dry cotton or microfibre cloth to remove sweat and oils.
- Do not use soap, sanitiser, polish, toothpaste or any chemical cleaner.
- Avoid scrubbing stones, pearls and kundan work, as they can loosen or lose their finish.
Store it right
- Store each piece separately in a zip-lock pouch or a lined jewellery box to keep out air and moisture.
- Keeping pieces apart prevents scratches and tangling.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. A small silica gel packet in the box helps absorb moisture.
Handle with care
- Avoid wearing your jewellery while exercising, sleeping or doing heavy work.
- Do not pull or bend earring hooks, chains and clasps.
- Handle jhumkas, sets and stone-studded pieces gently, as dropping them can loosen stones.
